For over 100 years, it has been Big Brothers Big Sisters
Mission to help children reach their potential through quality
one-to-one mentoring relationships with proven results.
Our
Vision is to provide successful mentoring relationships for all
children and youth who need and want them, contributing to brighter futures, better
schools and stronger communities for all.
We
Promise to foster a culture of commitment to diversity and inclusion,
partnership and collaboration, continuous learning, people development and a culture
of high performance.
Our Strategic Growth Plan
challenges us to increase the children served each year by 10% through mentoring
relationships in our community and school-based programs. We will do this
by our continuous role in developing positive relationships that have a direct and
effective impact on the lives of our young people.
The following strategic goals for 2006-2008 will help ensure we meet goals of servicing youths within the
Metropolitan area:
Goal 1:
Serve more children
in quality one-to-one mentoring relationships through community-based and site-based
programs.
Goal 2: Recruit a significant volume of mentors by partnering with mentor rich organizations.
Goal 3: Assure long-term financial stability by diversifying and expanding revenue
streams.
Goal 4: Build community awareness of Big Brothers Big Sisters and be recognized
as the highest quality mentoring organization in metropolitan Detroit.
Goal 5: Strengthen leadership and management structures to support growth, quality
and efficiency.
BBBSMD has a major role
in developing positive relationships that have a direct and effective impact on
the lives of our young people.
