A "BIG" Thank You to the Divine Nine!
On behalf of the children we serve thank you and congratulations to the Divine Nine for raising the much needed funds to support Big Brothers Big Sisters of Metropolitan Detroit.
The 4th Annual African-American Greek Bowling Challenge will be held on Sunday, November 20th at Hartfield Lanes (3790 W. 12 Mile Road, Berkely, MI, 48072). Since 2008, the African – American Greek Bowling Challenge has become a hallmark of our organization, which has become a network-wide best practice for other Big Brother Big Sister agencies. It has grown from engaging 74 participants in 2008, to over 300 participants in the course of three years, including all members of the Divine Nine and has resulted in raising a total of $20,500 for all three years to support mentoring programs in our community.
BBBSMD’s vision is to see all children achieve success in life. With your organizations’ continuous support BBBSMD is constantly improving our Littles’ odds of succeeding in school, behaving nonviolently, avoiding drugs and alcohol, and breaking negative cycles. Young people with a mentor have a better chance of leading healthy and productive lives - it means a more solid future for them, the schools they attend and the communities in which they live.
To participate in the 4th annual African – American Greek Bowling Challenge simply register your team (s) of five. The cost is $100 per person (for a team total of $500.00) or your chapter can secure a Lane Sponsorship of $500.00 (see sponsorship request).
Please contact Lola Rushin to learn more about how your chapter can participate at 313.309.9240 or via email lola.rushin@bbbsdetroit.org
