From our friends at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan: All of us at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan are alarmed by the statistics highlighting racial disparities as they relate to the coronavirus in our Michigan communities. It appears that African American, Hispanic/Latino and other vulnerable communities have been hit the hardest by this pandemic. These populations tend to experience underlying health conditions such as high blood pressure, diabetes, heart disease and kidney disease, among other conditions.
